An interesting building containing displays and information about Cape Verde's/ mindelos links with whaling. Info is written in French, english and German so is very tourist friendly. 100esc entry per person. Nice views of the non-working beach and the port from the roof top. Cheap entry so worth a visit if you are in the area but it wont take... More

Located close to the sea and the fish market and with the same name as Torre Belem in Lisabon. Great view over the city, and with a lot of interesting history of the place/island, fish and octupus in glasses with formalin, and also teeth from whales.

Near Fish market, something to look at. Island struggling to provide tourist points of interest apart from the natural beauty. It really does depend on the knowledge of the guide. Half and hour "photo stops" are not necessary. Tell us more of the history and peop0le of the Islands.

Next to the lively and very worthwhile to visit Fish Market is the small replica of Lisbon's Torre de Belem, housing since 2014 the interesting 'Museo do Mar'. There are no opening hours mentioned and the entry fee is only 1 € (100 Esc). The museum is on 3 floors and with an observatory rooftop, and has no elevator. Many... More

The Torre de Belem has been beautifully restored and now houses a most informative museum about San Vicente's history - the sort of place that gives you just the right amount of detail, not too much, not too little. Visit first thing in the morning, climb up to the terrace on the third floor and you'll get a great view... More

We did not go inside, but it holds a sea museum. It's a replica from the one you can visit in Lisboa, at smaller scale.

This castle is a classic one. A dongeon compleately empty, a deck with a few cannons, a roof with a view and finnaly, after waiting more than half an hour in line, a tower with just one more view over Belem. Well, it is on UNESCO list, but still a bit boring.

I wasn't expecting that much, but this sight still managed to disappoint. While looking for the tower we had read about, we at first couldn't find it. When we did find it, we realized we had walked past a few times, not realizing it was THE tower.

The tower is nothing to write home about. If you pass by, it is worthwhile to enter the little museum in the tower for 20 minutes.
