The beach in Tarrafal is beautiful! It is not very big and wild. The water is very clean and a bit wavy. There are some rocks that give the impression that the water has different colors from blue to green. You can also have a fresh coconut on the beach and there is a little restaurant there with great food,... More

It is so beautiful. Blue green waters, white soft sand. Bring your snorkeling gear. Leave praia early in the morning it is about a 2 hour drive. the drive is beautiful, the scenery will keep you going "wow" at every turn.

Beautifull small beach with white sand! The nicest is the road to get there through Malagueta Mountains

We rented a car and explored the island of Santiago on our way up to Tarrafal. (The ring roads can be confusing.) When we arrived in Tarrafal, we weren't sure where to go, so we asked a passerby, who directed us to the beaches where everyone was, which includes a fishing stop. We watched the fishermen come in with their... More

White sand, blue sky, local bar for beer and food. Great. Fish market in the mornings, or a t least fishermen selling their catch at one end, and the rest of the beach was empty. Easy to get to by public transport. It can be a bit of a wit to get a bus/minibus back as they like to fill... More

This is a lovely clean sandy beach. It's really unspoilt and not crowded at all. It is used by locals but we weren't pestered by sellers. The only issue I had was that the only toilets were unusable.

White sand, turquoise water, fisherman boats floating and nicely shaped waves. The perfect cliche of tropical beach.

We'd read mixed reports about Tarrafal, so we didn't really expect much, but I have to say that this beach is fantastic. For Santiago, it's a rare bit of easy chill out time. It was clean & there were plenty of people enjoying themselves, be it sunbathing, swimming or surfing. We only stopped for two or three hours as we... More

A place every traveler in Santiago must go to. The sunset is wonderful, the beach is beautiful and clean, the locals are welcoming. Fishermen sell their fish still alive and it is delicious!
