Went there in winter, nothing was open but we could go for walks to the beach. Although it was in the middle of the day we didn’t see any other people in the area. The paths were beautiful and I am happy we went although...More

for years this place has been my favorite retreat for meditation, quietness, wilderness, tradition, history. Its special and unique atmosphere induces introspective insights, esepecially if followed (as it should be) by a stay (whether short or mid-range duration) in the Fishermen's village of Montauk, an...More

You cannot take a trip to Montauk without visiting the Historic Lighthouse. You can climb the Lighthouse or you can just walk around the grounds and take pictures. They have an indoor snack bar that is open in-season. Very Large parking lot. Free if you...More

The lighthouse is all decked out for the holidays and well worth a visit. I love lighthouses and this one is truly one of the most magnificent. At this time of year you can no longer climb to the top, but that really doesn’t matter....More

We were so lucky to make the last climb to the lighthouse tower before it closed for the season. The narrow steps up are worth while climbing as the view from the top is so beautiful. I also found the story board with pictures and...More

What a way to kick off the holiday season. This was our 4th visit to the Montauk Lighthouse Christmas lighting event. The weather, festive crowd and holiday music were a perfect way to celebrate the Christmas season

The lighthouse is picturesque but it costs $11 per person to enter onto the grounds. Not worth the costs, even if climbing the few steps to the top. You get the same views from the patio by the gift shop. And go on a weekday...More

Beautiful. Sunset is amazing. Very cold in December so bundle up. Bring a thermos with hot cocoa and sit on the benches and watch the boats go by.

We went here in June and the weather was perfect. I have some tremendous photos of the lighthouse and the ocean.

From memory:- Public parking opposite this venue is $8.00. Entrance to the lighthouse is $10.00 for adults, cheaper rates for children & I think senior citizens/pensioners. Admission fee includes climbing the tower to the... More

I did see several dogs leashed on the property. I do believe they can go in the lighthouse though
