I've been going there all my life and it has come a long way. There is now a water park for kids in addition to the playground. Less packed than Jones Beach but does get very crowded on the weekends in the summer.

A pleasant, relaxing day at the beach. It is possible to enjoy the beach without loud blaring radios and wild antics on the beach. The beach area is well maintained and clean.

The crews keep this beach pretty clean during the summer. The restaurants were closed due to some shady dealings but are scheduled to open in '17. The concession stand at the beach (hot dog & ice cream stuff) was open but not selling beer In the the off season, taking a walk along the beach is good for the soul.... More

For the amount of taxes and beach charges for residents and non residents those beaches should be spotless. Instead of paying 50 kids to stand around give them some responsibility and let them do some weed pulling and cleaning so they could bring there families there in the future

You don't really need to go to the big ocean beaches especially if you have small children. This beach is right on the bay and has few if any waves. Great little place right on the Southshore.

I am definitely just not a beach person, but my kids are. I like Tobay, despite the high cost for non residents to go. I like they have this AMAZING splash park/playground on the bay side of the beach. It's one of the best near me, and there aren't many on Long Island. In fact, that is one reason I... More

My children and I have been coming to this beach since they were toddlers. The beach is clean, fairly small - as in you don't have to walk so far to get to the water, the life guards are friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere is family oriented but appropriate for teens and couples. It's an all around great... More
