Pleasantly surprised w the information, presentation, history right under our nose. Family from Alabama loved every minute. It was a hot day and a little uncomfortable...not that common...so i’m sure most days are comfortable.

Great little museum to learn about Syracuse's salt history. Doesn't take long to have a look around but it's interesting but a little run down. Still a good stop if you're in the area.

Something I’m not sure many think to visit but it’s part of our Syracuse history and amazing to see what it was like in this area years ago check it out

It’s a museum about salt, enough said. Go outside and enjoy the giant park that the museum is in. I went here when I was in middle school as as an adult and nothing has changed.

Before booking our trip to Syracuse we had no idea of the history of salt in that region. The museum covered the impact it had on the area. So cool that the agreement for the reservation to be made into a public park for all...More

This is a small, free museum at the front of Onondaga Lake Park. It's cool and damp inside, there are a few exhibits of what was once a thriving 'salt industry' back in the 1800's. Onondaga Lake was fresh water, but there were salt springs...More

Syracuse is known as the Salt City and the Salt museum gives you a good education as to why. Kids might find it a bit boring, ours are 6 & 8 and lasted about 30 minutes, I would like to go back solo to spend...More

This museum was fun with interactive, life size exhibits with very detailed historical accounts of the days when Syracuse produced salt. On a hot day they open both doors and have lots of air flow. The museum guide was very knowledgeable.
