Much less frequented than Zanzibar, turcoise water and so isolated. If you look for peace and quiet this is the place for you.

Amazing island to discover the Swahili culture and incredible beaches and nature. Different than Zanzibar (Unguja), Pemba is full of hills and rivers. Enjoy!

Pemba is a lovely place to visit but beware! Bring your own entertainment.. There isn't much to do except relax and sit back. There is no or horrible wifi at the hotels on the island. On the other hand families can bond better. Loads of mosquitos and lizards :-/

I went to Pemba to actually visit relatives expecting to be in a very backward place full of infrastructure problems. Warm and happy. They also do utilise their... More

By far the more beautiful of the two islands that make up Zanzibar - not visited very much by tourists and not yet spoilt by package tourism (let's hope it never happens - and instead more sensible tourism development happens).

They arranged a day trip by launch out to Masali Island, including shore lunch of fresh caught fish, fruit, salad! Fantastic. Beautiful beaches, forest to hike in, cool caves-a great excursion...
