All three lakes r beautiful. Lake George is more crowded all the time and difficult to get a parking(paid parking is available with their own beach though). Whereas Mirror lake has same view but less crowd.

We admired the people in kayaks and paddle boards enjoying themselves on the lake. In October! We were content to just take in the gorgeous view from the balcony of our room. Beautiful during the day and at night.

wouldn't be complete with out stopping in/ seeing Lake Placid. One note many restaurants and shops are closed after the leaf peepers leave.

Visitors have several choices for canoe/kayak rentals. We chose a lakeside, locally owned vendor. Great equipment choice and reasonable pricing. We determined our abilities would allow us to circumnavigate within an hour timeline. It was quiet due to early start. The views, wildlife, beautiful homes,...More

Walking along Mirror Lake was an outstanding morning and evening activity. There is a sidewalk along the southern shore and the lake is right across the street from the Hampton Inn.

What a great place for a nice couples getaway. Lots of shopping, relaxing and great restaurants. We visited the Olympic bobsled and luge venue worth the visit.

This place reminded me of a classic european ski village. The lake is spectacular and the town is fun to walk. I would love to see it during ski season.

The path is more of a "sidewalk" that wraps around the lake. Walk out the front door of any of the buildings on Main Street lake side and start walking in either direction. It is literally that simple!

I would call the Chamber of Commerce for Lake Placid and they should be able to tell you.
