In the lonely planet tjhey tellyou that this place is very special and a must see. And that this holy place for the San can be visited for free. The last is no longer true. We arrived over a quite well kept gravel road and found a gate now with a very unfriendly lady who told us that we had... More

We booked 7 days camping at Tsodilo Hills Community campsite as all other sites were fully booked. The plan was to use this as a base camp from where we can explore the upper Western part of Botswana. They charged a ridiculous price of 140 Pula per person per day, which is around R 190 South African Rand. On arrival,... More

Very interesting landscape. Amazing amount of rock art. Be prepared for some strenous walking. I advise hiring a knowledgable guide.

Went with a guide from our lodge but needed to go with a local guide assigned there.....he was a San Bushman having grown up on the mt. He offered a great tour and interpretation of the paintings. So glad we went.

Some of the ancient cave paintings are so clear and bright it's hard to believe their age. Local guide was informative. The geology of the area is also very impressive.

This world heritage site has been handed over to the local community who rakes in over 1 million Dollars a year and treats their tourists in the most disgraceful manner. While the site itself is awesome, the campsite (only accommodation for miles) has been utterly abandoned by this greedy community. The ablutions have never been cleaned, but how would one... More

An interesting half day trip from Drotsky's Cabins. George the guide gave plenty of information about the cave paintings and the people who painted them. Saw plenty of birds and reptiles and ate juicy marula fruit. Well worth the drive.

We stayed 3 nights here and were lucky enough to be allowed to stay on site camp grounds not allows the case as many times the local camp staff have problems with visitors leaving trash in the camp grounds or taking candle light parties into the hills at night, never a good idea. Get a local guide here and stretch... More
