Shelving Rock Falls is definitely worth visiting. People of all ages are capable of making the short hike there.

Was there. Never saw falls. Can someone explain to me which parking lot was the best. Easy trail? Seemed so confusing. Never saw anything. To me NOTHING was marked. Totally disappointed.

We drove from lake George, its definitely about 45 minutes to an hour on a dirt road for about 20 minutes, but when you get there, it’s really nice. It’s about 5 minutes from the parking lot to get there and it’s a little steep,...More

My husband and I went to shelving rock falls this past weekend (August). The drive from Lake George village was about 1 hour. Towards the end of the drive, you have to drive on dirt roads but it isn't as bad as we thought it...More

I have mixed feelings about Shelving Rock Falls. We chose this hiking spot because we wanted something fairly easy (and safe - we had already had one accident) for my 5 year old nephew. Even though this spot was an hour away from where we...More

Easy “hike” more like a walk in the woods. Very nice view and great opportunity for some family pics! Well worth it. The ride is a lot of unsaved roads but cruised right along at 30 mph the whole way so they are in good...More

Took 4 teenagers to the falls and we all loved it. The trail is less than 1/2 a mile to the falls. It is very scenic and follows a stream to the beautiful falls. We kept following the stream after the falls and it leads...More

We went with kids of 15, 13 and 9 years old. The drive there takes about 30-45 minutes on unpaved road but in our opinion is worth the drive. It's only a short hike after there of about 15 minutes to get to the money...More

I read other reviews indicating that the drive to the Shelving Rock Falls parking lot was beautiful and that the 7 mile long gravel road was smooth sailing. I considered the scenery as just ok. The road wasn't horrible, but it had some segments that...More

The drive takes about 45 minutes from lake George. The last 15 to 20 minutes drive goes thru unpaved road that is leveled and is almost like a paved road. That drive is the most beautiful part of the park since you are driving thru...More
