Buttermilk Falls is worth a little side trip if you are in the Finger Lake Region. Years ago, visitors could climb up the side of the falls and slide down the rocks along with the flowing water. Now it seems to be just a sight-seeing event. Sill beautiful, though.

I am a had core veteran of this park and have explored it thoroughly and it has something for the continuum of outdoor enthusiasts. Start at the lower falls and continue up and up until you circle the lake at the top and when you get back you'll know you've done some hiking. You can also gently meander about the... More

Most people visit the lower part of the park, where there is a swimming hole at the base of the waterfalls. The upper section of the park is also great, and can be reached by car also. But the best parts, in my opinion are: - the trail that connects the lower part of the park to the upper one... More

Get out and do outside activities! Go to a winery! We also highly recommend visiting the Cornell campus as well as going out to dinner in town. Ithaca has great restaurants, nightlife, culture -enjoy!!

Buttermilk is one of half a dozen falls in the Ithaca area, and the most accessible. In summer, there is a swimming/wading area. Parking is easy and free in some areas. You can access the viewing part of the falls right from your car. Handicapped accessible in the extreme. Of course, there is not much to do other than LOOK... More

Quite a hike to get to the top, but the views were impressive--despite the fact that the waterfall was totally dry when we were there. Can't wait to see what it looks like when there's been some rain!

This is one of the most beautiful parks with gradual waterfalls and a lovely hiking trail beside it. This is nice for families. I would hike Buttermilk Falls as a study break during graduate school at Cornell. This hike is good for the soul!!

Tall and fun to walk around. Next to playing fields and other hiking trails. You can even walk to Ithaca Brewing company for a nice post-hike beverage.

This place is one of a kind. At upper buttermilk I'm almost positive you don't have to pay to go in but I could be wrong. The falls are beautiful and the hiking is cute and fun. Don't jump off the cliffs either. It may be a rush of adrenaline, but nys issues fines for that kind of stuff. Bring... More
