I recommend quad tour as an activity in Douz. Suitable for large groups and little children too. Try to opt for timing around sunset to get the best of the experience!

This is the best you might be looking for. Grab a quad bike and go full throttle, the dunes make the ride fabulous.

A trip to Tunisia is incomplete without visiting Douz and experiencing a ride into its Sahara! Hence, a dromedary or a quad ride is a must. We choose the dromedaries. Rather uncomfortable but truly an art of balancing to avoid being thrown off by the mischievous and reluctant animals. The 30-minutes ride into the Sahara was pretty hot and glaring but we were rewarded by its fine sand and vastness and its coolness as we touched the sand. A must try!

We had this quad ride activity as part of our South Tunisia tour. My husband and I shared the same ATV vehicle and it was a lot of fun. Make sure you stay in the course as the guide doesn’t seem to like it when you go off the course or don’t stick to the speed limit (as my husband tried to do so a few times).
