What a gem!
Oct 2019
We sought out this small museum because of its wealth of local artifacts related to the campaigns in northern Italy in WW II. The owner, in whose home the museum is located, had gathered all of the items as part of his hobby. He and his wife were eager to share their knowledge and their friendship with us. He has an amazing collection of memorabilia, including original location maps of Allied and German forces during the campaigns, parts of the airplane of a Brazilian pilot attached to the US Air Force who was shot down over the area, uniforms, rations, guns, knives, pictures, personal momentos. And he shares it generously with the public, without cost or expectation of remuneration. We were warmly received and questions answered, although he did not speak much English and we spoke little to no Italian!

A great museum

The Nazi's defensive line, known as the Gothic Line, held the war frozen in suspense during the winter of 1944-1945. This museum explains the cost in human terms, the forces involved, and the strategies that led to the breakout and rout in the spring. Excellent, lots of equipment, including motoriazed weapons and aircraft, and a special hall dedicated to the Blue Devils, US 88th Infantry.

Fascinating

The owner of this private museum collected hundreds of pieces of war memorabilia from the time he was a child at the end of the war. Others were donated by American veterans. Well worth a visit.
