Less crowds than Jones Beach, more room and cleaner that Coney.
Pros: beach, cops, travel time
Cons: parking (arrive WAY before the lifeguards get on duty, trust me), hot-dogs don't seem to matter anymore.
Worth the visit.
The Rockaways are a great day trip from NYC. The beach is nice and although it gets pretty busy it’s not too crowded.
