Lovely day hike. Lots to do seasonally when the park is open. Swim/wade in the designated spots, hike the trails and enjoy the wildlife responsibly.

Quaint little state park, family orientated. Great place to swim and cool off during the summer. Nice walking trail up the gorge, good campgrounds, tennis courts and picnic facilities.

Stony Brook offers a great value for a family looking to spend a day playing in a park. The athletic fields are rarely crowded, and the hiking trails are generally well maintained. The picnic areas can fill on the weekends during the peak season, but there are many options, and you are sure to find a place to grill up... More

It's an OK park, the waterfalls are nice. We went to have a picnic with friends and to take a walk. We've also visited the campgrounds, but we're not overly impressed.

This is truly an amazing place. The many waterfalls at different levels of the gorge are beautiful and you are able to get up close and personal with each one of them. There are different hikes for every skill level. There is camping available at one part of the park separate from the day use area. The washrooms are kept... More

The gorge trail is a nice walk along the stream past several cascades and waterfalls. The path is stone, but can be uneven so you'll want sturdy footwear. Starting from the tennis courts is going upstream and up stairs which was nice to do on the way out rather than they way back. We returned along the gorge trail although... More

The waterfalls are less spectacular this year because of low rainfall, but that seems to have made the colors of the leaves much more beautiful. We really enjoyed hiking here this week -- and it's best to go in the fall -- some of the trails are closed in the winter.

We had a picnic lunch and hiked the beautiful gorge trail. Here's all that is here: Stony Brook State Park's terrain comprises hilly woodlands, a deep gorge with rugged cliffs overlooking three waterfalls and fascinating rock formations. 116 tent and trailer campsites are scattered in the woodlands above the gorge in the upper or south end of the park. Visitors... More

Visited this state park after a friend recommended it. Three 1/2 hour long trails along a gorge , lovely views and lots of waterfalls, wear sneakers, restrooms and lots of parking, with a swimming pool in the summer and small shop for snacks. Defiantly recommend it on a sunny day for the changing of the leaves
