What a beautiful day we had at the croton dam. There are two parking lots one above which takes you on a walkway on the dam and one at bottom with a sign croton gorge park where the bridge crosses the stream; you can view the falls and dam. The park is clean, has seating and bbq grills available -... More

Fall is such a magnificent time of year! Fall foliage in New York is mesmerizing... stopped by this place on our way back and it was worth it! Must see if in the area! Great place to picnic - weather permitting of course and definitely great area for photo opportunities

Seen pictures but had to see it in person. It is in believable. The stone work is incredible. Seen it from the bottom (we were able to go in the park entrance. We did not have to pay but during the summer months I think there is a fee to enter)and tried to find our way to get to the... More

All you have to do is look at the pictures and that say it all. Tip: I've read other reviews that stated how crowded it can get on weekends. Do yourself a favor and go on a weekday, you'll practically have the place to yourself.

What a great place to visit in the fall! Pack a picnic and bring your family and some cider and enjoy the crisp fall air. Or if you're into light hiking or biking, you can also choose to do that. I have yet to decide if I like the lower or upper park better as they are both equally stunning!

Visited the Dam on a beautiful fall day. Took the long walk up to the top of the Dam, a fairly gentle climb, probably a hundred feet in elevation change? Once on top of Dam enjoy the reservoir(NYC water supply)on one side and the river/outfall on the other. Dam was tallest Dam in the world at the time of completion,... More

Was nice but wish we could drive across the dam like it used to be. Park as base of dam is good for kids and the dam was easy to see for the kids, but not as accessible as it used to be.

Great for a short hike, or a family picnic. Photographers will love the monumental aspect of the dam-- especially once the construction project is complete. I was there to take photos as well as to try out the bike/hike trail along the old Croton aqueduct trail and found it very pleasant as the course is very flat and shaded. I... More

Deciding to take a trip to Westchester and am so glad that I included a visit to the New Croton Dam. An easy walk from the parking lot to see the waterfall and dam and then a gradual walk up a nearby hill until you are on top of the dam. Nice views of the reservoir which holds and treats... More

It's a nice place to spend either couple hours or a whole day. There is a picnic area, kinds playground and places for other activities. You also can drive up to the top of the bridge. We enjoyed it very much.
