We were expecting a challenging walk up gravely paths, so it was a surprise to find ourselves tackling some steep rocky hills! We didn’t have the right shoes on, the views were really great!

We hiked up into the Hudson Highlands Park from the Breakneck Ridge trail, and then followed the white/blue trails into the park. We turned back on the yellow trail, hiking over Sugarloaf before returning to 9D. Next time, we might aim for the fire tower,...More

I read many reviews before embarking on the breakneck endeavor, many of which said that people who feared heights need not be afraid because it’s not too bad. It’s bad guys! Fire trucks and ambulances literally arriving to save someone right as I finished descending...More

Great hike. The start of the white trail up is more of a road and there was recent clear cutting to widen it (not very scenic) but once past the quarry the trail thins out and you get great views of the Hudson. The actual...More

Overlooking the Hudson and along the Hudson this walking area is a good place for a weekend walk. It is 2 hours from nyc by train. In cold springs nearby there are good restaurants.

A mostly undeveloped preserve of nearly 6,000 acres, the park consists of a series of separate parcels of land stretching from Annsville Creek in Peekskill, north to Dennings Point in Beacon. This is a strenuous 6 mile loop hike with great views, which would take...More

Hudson Highlands State Park is just an hour or so out of NYC but is a completely different world. The park is very spread out along the Hudson -we hiked in the section around a Cold Spring. The trail heads are not well marked at...More

The Bull Hill's White trail was perfect hiking trail because there were some challenging areas and some pretty lay back path. The only disappointment was the "Green trail" that was a terrible, hazardous, and stressful experience. The Green trail is made up of 85 percent...More
