This Putnam History museum was a complete surprise to me. I went expecting to learn more about the Foundry Preserve, and while there is an excellent exhibit on the foundry, I also found an incredible exhibit on the modern residential architecture of the Hudson River...More

Lots of interesting exhibits on the history of the Cold Spring area, the foundry etc. The kids didn't want to read each exhibit but found the photos interesting. Nice to do on a rainy day.

Very limited hours -- have to really build in a plan to get here Highlights 1. very informative 12 minute video about the foundry 2. some great artifacts including weapons and domestic items made in the foundry 3. large artworks showing life in/around the foundry

This small yet interesting litttle museum & Historical Society is worth the visit. Great local charater and charm.
