You can drop $20 here in tokens and have a blast. Clean, fun, and decently priced. Parking across the street or on street parking. Kids from age 5+ love it as well as adults.

Wow...Didn't know a place like this existed.

The "store" part of this place is simply amazing. For someone like me, who grew up in the 90's, this was a very nostalgic experience. They sell tons of games, consoles and accessories, ranging from the 80's through the 2010's. They had old Atari, original NES and Sega consoles and games, as well as newer PS4 equipment and games. So many rare things to see you only thought were available on eBay.

The arcade portion is equally as impressive. Again, I think those who grew up in the 80's - 2000's will truly appreciate this place as many of the arcades there are from that era. There isn't really anything newer than 2005 in there. There are lots of pinballs as well that looked cool. You can change your dollar bills for token (4 tokens for $1) and most games cost 1-2 tokens to play. My only gripe was that a bunch of games I played (more than half of the 8-10 I tried) had faulty controllers. Either the joysticks or buttons were unresponsive.

Again, I'm not sure if the younger generation can appreciate this place as most of this place is for an "older - now 30's and 40's crowd". There aren't really any newer games there.

I would like to return with my brothers (30 y/o and 40 y/o) who I both know would love this place.

I was told parking on the street in the front is fine.

We were looking for something different to do so we made the almost hour and a half drive up to check the place out. It was a fun way to pass a couple hours of time. Due to COVID, you have to check in at the desk, provide your name, phone number and number of people in your party. They ask you to distance from others not in your party, but its a little hard to do when playing the games. It was cool playing some of the classics I used to play in the arcades back in the 80s and 90s. I could beat games like TMNT and the Simpsons…now I stink at them haha but they are still fun to play again. There is also a row of pinball machines if that’s your thing.

There is a token machine before entering the arcade and they do give extra tokens if you cash out higher denominations. I put a $20 in and I think I got maybe $3 or $4 extra dollars in tokens (sorry, I don’t remember).

The store has every type of system and game one can imagine. They even had old game guides and I saw a couple old issues of Nintendo Power for purchase.

While I would probably not make a special trip just to go there again, I would stop by if passing through on the way somewhere else. I think this place is geared more towards the locals. I think very young kids may get bored easily with the older style games. My son is 18 and when I offered to get more tokens, he said naw, he was good after we went through our $20 + the extra tokens.

We tried this on a rainy day, a last minute plan as we traveled past Binghamton. WOW! So many games from the 80 last and 90s, and even older. It was like a blast from the past! The games are very affordable, many of the older classics like Pac-Man are just 1 token. So many to choose from and pinball games too. A fun activity for adults and kids. We stayed until they closed and we are already planning a trip back!

We discovered this awesome video game place last year and we were excited to go again! The games are very affordable and will bring back lots of memories for those that grew up in the eighties. Also they have quite a large selection of pinball machines too. I would have given a five rating but a couple of the games ate tokens without playing. I should have notified the staff during our visit.

My boyfriend and I made a trip to the Binghamton area to visit some breweries and heard about Robot City Games. We're glad we stopped in. Very nostalgic! The place is very clean and well organized. There is machine to get tokens to play the different games and cups to put your tokens in so it's easy to carry them around. Most games seemed to be 25 cents or 50 cents. Lots and lots of pinball machines and other games you'll remember from your childhood. There was a guy going around with a little vacuum making sure the place stayed clean. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and there were a good amount of people in there, but it wasn't so busy that you couldn't move around. They also have a restroom in the building. Just ask the people at the counter for the key. There were a few times that I put money in and the game didn't work. We'd definitely go back if we're in the area.

I've been on 2 first dates here, and I actually love it. Yeah some of the games don't work or don't respond well but that's part of the fun! I'll definitely be back more. It's a pretty great experience

I read some reviews before checking out this place on a recent road trip. It looks like many of these positive reviews were written a few years ago. And it's possible they set my expectations too high.

This retro game store is more like a museum. It was cool that they had so many fun games in stock -- until I realized why. They probably don't sell many at these prices. Robot City wanted $40 firm for every complete Nintendo and Sega game that commonly sells for $30 each online. Sold prices on eBay (or the website Pricecharting) are considered full price. Sure, they do offer a "buy 3 get 1 free" program, but that's a ridiculous gimmick when starting with overpriced items. I don't know anyone who's going to pay 30% markup for buying 1-2 games.

The arcade was also disappointing. At first they seemed to have some great titles that I remember playing in other arcades / barcades. But probably every other machine was broken. There were fuzzed-out screens, and joysticks that wouldn't respond if pushed. I tried the pinball games too. Unfortunately, they had the same problems. A lot of stuck flippers. If it were just one game, I probably would have told management, but clearly they don't seem to care about upkeep of the arcade.

Top top it all off, the guy behind the retail counter was rude, and acted like he couldn't show me anything because he wasn't the owner. Most of the decent games are kept behind glass, so there's really no choice but to deal with him. It was not a friendly experience overall. I wound up buying the exact same retro games locally instead -- at regular prices.
