Be sure to visit with Harold the White Mountain Apache/Marine. This is a ramble museum with lots of cool rooms and things including a mastodon skull found locally. Amazing what there is and the effort to make this a great experience for the whole family.

Absurd amount of stuff packed into 14 rooms in a totally creative and homespun way. Just so much cool stuff. Just go. You're in the town so support them with the 5 bucks and prepare for some really pleasant surprises!

History of the area and NM from Native Americans, Spanish settlement, rail roads, construction of Elephant Butte dam and the TV show Truth or Consequences fills the museum. Mammoth and mastodon skulls on display. You can spend hours in the museum.

So much to see, truly a great must see in TorC. Wonderful native display of pottery. One of the best places to see the history of the area.
