Hiking down to the Rio Grande with Stuart and his llamas is the most peaceful adventure you'll probably ever take. Such a nice guy, full of energy and knowledge. It's obvious he loves what he's doing, I'm more than a little jealous. Oh, and the man offers up a fine lunch.

Fun day hiking with Loki and the rest of Stuart's llamas. Stuart's passion for his herd and the outdoors is contagious. A very well guided hike and unique experience. A must do when you visit Taos!

Have done this trip a couple of times with grandkids. Hikes are led by a naturalist that provides allot of information about the environment and the Llamas. We did the "Lunch with a Llama" trips and the lunches were very good. Kids get to lead their own Llama and get to learn allot about them while enjoying a leisurely hike... More

Thank you so much for your thoughtful insight into the trek, and the great review. You're right about March being a bit on the chilly side some years. We're going to start opening mid March to avoid uncomfortable days. We look forward to hiking with you and your family again (in the summer). Happy Thanksgiving!! More

This is a must do. My wife and I hiked with Stuart and friends down the rio grande gorge. Stuart's passion for conservation is contagious. It was an honor to be able to spend the day with him. The llama's are awesome and lunch was amazing.

This was my 4th trip with Stuart and his llama friends! A great trip to bottom of Rio Grande Gorge. I love Stuart's lunch and all the interesting information about the formation of the gorge, animals, and vegetation.

My wife and I took the day trek that involved a nice, calm walk up a fairly easy walking trail to a clearing where we had lunch. Our trek included another couple and the guide/owner, Stewart. I was under the impression that group size varies but that didn't change the experience provided. Stewart is an awesome guy, full of excitement... More

Sounds like quite the adventure!! Sorry about the fall:( glad you're ok. And, have a great sense of humor. Thrilled to hear the trip still turned out to be awesome for you and your wife. One of the best ways to learn about the beauty and richness of the New Mexico wilderness - Llama trekking in northern New Mexico! Our guide, Stuart, an experienced naturalist who knows everything about the flora and fauna of the region, took us on an amazing day hike including exploring an abandoned gold mine! We embarked on a day trip with Stuart and the Llama's and it was an outstanding experience. Stuart is amazing--his knowledge of the forest, flora and fauna was exceptional. From native plants to mining caves, Stuart knows this back country very well and you will be well cared for along the journey. Lastly, whats better than lunch and a hike... More
