I visited here on Sunday morning, July 25, 2010. The full name of the museum is actually Taos Art Museum and Fechin House. They have a really nice art collection that I quite enjoyed. On the basis of the art collection, I’d say this is...More

This was Nicolai Fechin's house. This Russian artist came out to Taos at the behest of Mable Dodge Lujan. He built this, his own house in just six years, painting in the day and carving all the doors, fittings and furniture at night in his...More

Also known as the Fenchin House, this is a beautiful property. The museum is housed in the historic home. Exhibits vary, and are usually from the Taos artists. Very nice.

The Taos Art Museum in the one-time Nikolai Fechin house is a "must" when visiting the city. At $10 for adults, it is worth it to step back in time and get a feel for what living in Taos was like when the art colony...More

This museum is a gem. Of special interest are the wood carvings of the original owner, Nikolai Fechin. We chanced upon a guided tour, which was very informative (contact them for regular guided tour hours.) This museum is also called "Taos Art Museum at Fechin...More

It’s housed in the home of one of the founders of the Taos art community . The adobe house contains furniture built by the artist as well as his art and other Taos artists. The proverbial gift shop

Fechin's paintings and drawings are stunning! There is also a large collection of the Taos School artists in the museum. Fechin was also an accomplished woodworker and he carved all the doors and trim in the house. A large collection of his hand built furniture...More

While the collection at the Taos Art Museum is very interesting (perhaps too much Fechin), the building and the startlingly beautiful wood work done by Nikolai Fechin himself is worthy of its own museum...oh, it IS a museum! Well worth the time and effort.

This was a quaint little art museum in Taos. It’s in an old house which was part of the experience. The entrance fee was a little high for what the museum was but if you think of it as a donation to help them out...More

Great collection of paintings in a historic house. The hand carved doors, window treatments and furniture alone are worth the price of admission. Also a nice garden area and gift shop. We had an enjoyable conversation with the docent (curator?) - provided a lot of...More

$10. There is a discount for folks 65 and older, $8 I think. Definitely worth the cost.
