The Harwood Museum is a small museum located near the plaza in Taos (and luckily has a parking lot!) owned by the University of New Mexico, the museum specializes in local artists. Check the event calendar when you go. We happened to arrive on the day the new exhibit of Taos artist, John Du Puy's paintings had opened and were... More

A good portion of the museum was closed to mount a new exhibit when we visited, so we appreciated being offered a reduced admission fee. The museum has a good collection of Taos artists and is definitely worth a visit.

Excellent selection of historic Taos painters' works in an historic building. Also included modern art, New Mexican tinware , and Spanish wood santos. Good selection of books and art in the gift shop.

This museum has a really good selection of paintings and painters.lots to explore and each exhibition area has lots of information on the artists. The staff at the front desk are very helpful. This was the best museum I visited in Taos.

It is a good small museum. You get a good picture of the Taos community of artists from the last century.

Small and well done, great assortment of local art but of a fine quality and hung very well. Excellent array of different types of art. You will go away learning a lot about the NM life.

The Harwood is an intimate museum with an extensive collection of arts from northern New Mexico. Anyone interested in learning more about the extraordinary artistic spirit of this region should plan a visit. The current exhibit commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Taos Society of Artists, who helped popularize the region and its peoples through their paintings, prints and drawings.... More

The history of significant artists of Taos is displayed in this museum. Spend a little or a lot of time, either way you will learn a lot and see some amazing art.

The Harwood museum has a large and well curated collection of New Mexican art, which is especially strong in early and mid-20th century artists. It also has an interesting collection of folk art from the colonial period. There is a gallery devoted to paintings by Agnes Martin, who lived in New Mexico toward the end of her life, which is... We were unfamiliar with the exquisite art produced and being produced in the Taos area prior to this visit. This is a very nicely curated space. I would recommend it to any traveler.
