Had a nice time in this park, strolling through all the arts and crafts at a local festival that was in town that weekend. I could tell, though, that when empty, this would be a nice downtown area to stroll through, off the street, away...More

We visited the park specifically to find the cemetery where Kit Carson is resting. It was clearly marked and very accessible.

Kit Carson Park appears to be a forgotten place. It was not particularly well kept up considering the man buried here. Although PC culture and times pervade, the times this man lived in were very different and trying to force modern attitudes into the past...More

This park is utilized so often and for awesome craft shows, charity walks, music events and so on. Every time we land in Taos there is something going on. Grass areas and sidewalks to walk on all the way. Very nice place.

We saw the Alabama Shakes this past weekend, and while this isn't Red Rocks or the Gorge, this was a terrific outdoor venue. Big enough not to feel cramped, small enough you can still see the artists' faces on stage. The city is making a...More

We visited Taos over a long weekend so that we could see the band "Alabama shakes" at Kit Carson Park. The park was absolutely beautiful and green with lots of trees. Not many concerts get to have settings like this. Although there were 8000 people...More

I went to his house, watched the movie, saw his gravestone. learned a lot. It was not busy in the museum. I gather many folks come here to look at the art or shop the stores around the plaza.

No. They will sell beverages there and won't allow you to bring your own to guarantee that you will pay crazy prices for water even. The lawn chair will be handy unless they over pack the event.
