We visited Taos over a long weekend so that we could see the band "Alabama shakes" at Kit Carson Park. The park was absolutely beautiful and green with lots of trees. Not many concerts get to have settings like this. Although there were 8000 people there it didn't feel like it. It was really lovely and I would definitely go... More

I went to his house, watched the movie, saw his gravestone. learned a lot. It was not busy in the museum. I gather many folks come here to look at the art or shop the stores around the plaza.

This park has a great trail around it, with a cemetery, stage, benches, tables. and even little league fields in the back. Great for jogging, picnicking, or just walking.

Cemetery worth a look but the park as a whole was run down and had lots of dilapidated fencing. Shame really.

Situated smack middle of town is Kit Carson park. The best thing about this park is that it features many events. Craft fairs, concerts, Lgbt gatherings with shows and music, eart days. Almost every other week-end or at least, once a moth there is an event. They have a great park for children with slides, swings, etc. pic Nic tables... More

Located close to the action, has a fascinating cemetery with a number of historical residents interred--KIt Carson & Mabel Dodge Luhan. Has a walkway, so easy to make your way around. The Park has an annual Hot Rod show, arts & craft fairs & other events.

The Kit Carson Park is not just a great park for the locals but for history lovers the outstanding feature is the Kit Carson Memorial State Park just behind the baseball field. It's a cemetery which houses the grave of early Taos residents including Kit Carson and his family. The Carson area of the cemetery is marked with a USA... More

We accidentally drove this way on our way to Taos and it's absolutely gorgeous. There were sheer cliffs, warnings of falling rocks, etc. I almost hit a deer but because I was going slow we both lived to share it with our respective herds. We saw antelope. There was snow on the mountain. The roads were winding switchbacks so have... More

While there isn't anything about Kit Carson Park that I'd call extraordinary, it didn't really have any bad features either. It's definitely conveniently located, though after a big snow storm it doesn't really offer much more than playing in the snow, not that that is a bad thing!
