This park is super big and has lots of big trees so it could be spectacular. There is a nice little walking path. It is really run down and poorly maintained and just kind of sad. There is a playground, but it's over rocks so...More

We had to ask around where the Kit Carson Cemetery was, eventually someone send us to this park and maybe we came up an "non tourist" way but the whole park felt very badly maintained. The entrance was messy and the grass not mown, there...More

If you like to visit the grave sites of famous people, this is a must see, since everyone's heard of Kit Carson. BTW, Dennis Hopper is buried in Taos, across town.

This small cemetery north of the center of town has been made into a state park. Some of the early anglo and Hispanic settlers are buried here as well at the Kit Carson family. We visited because my wife's ancestors have a large plot here....More

...with Kit Carson's name on it. Grassy area, trees. There was a wool festival there when we visited. That was very interesting. I had no idea there were so many kinds of sheep wool.

Kind of disheartening to see the shape this place is in. You would think that Taos would take more pride in itself by keeping the park in better shape.

Had a nice time in this park, strolling through all the arts and crafts at a local festival that was in town that weekend. I could tell, though, that when empty, this would be a nice downtown area to stroll through, off the street, away...More

We visited the park specifically to find the cemetery where Kit Carson is resting. It was clearly marked and very accessible.

No. They will sell beverages there and won't allow you to bring your own to guarantee that you will pay crazy prices for water even. The lawn chair will be handy unless they over pack the event.
