I enjoyed seeing how one of the original Taos artist lived by touring his home. There was a special exhibit to see other early Taos artists paintings in the home. Mrs. Blumenschien's paintings and her painted furniture can also be viewed in the house. The...More

Visiting homes of well-known writers, collectors, or other folks of interest can be a fascinating glimpse into the lives of inspiring and inspired people. Artifacts and collectibles adorn each room (even the kitchen) as you imagine how the Blumenschein family and friends entertained themselves during...More

An interesting home and story of how the home came together through the acquisition of pieces and parts and how the Blumenscheins would remodel and try to make it fit into the rambling structure they called home. I felt a little like I was browsing...More

This is the old home of one of the most famous Taos artists. There's only 4 Blumenschien paintings, more done by his wife and daughter. The house alone is interesting.

While the art is great, I found myself more intrigued by the carvings and the house itself. He was a master craftsman.

We love museums, so it is hard to give a bad review to a museum, but we have to be honest. This was a disappointment. The house itself is dank and dark. The artwork is so-so. We cannot recommend this museum. Sorry!

My wife had been here before and was disappointed due to some items no longer shown but over all it was very nice and enjoyable. If you are a "art person" you'll enjoy your visit.

Expected more Early Taos artist art to be on display. House was interesting. More impressed with 2013 visit. After studying more about the Taos Colony, returned this summer for a more in depth second visit and found less of the art than expected.
