On a bit-hard-to-access side street, this museum, housed in the artist’s original adobe-style house, is a gem. Multiple small rooms show what life was like 100 years ago when the art community in Taos was getting its start. Blumenschein’s wife, and her work, is also...More

We toured the Blumenschein home on a Wednesday in October. I looked it up on the internet and learned it was closed, but we were already on our way, so walked over to the home anyway. To our surprise, the home and museum were open!...More

This home and museum is maintained like it was when the artist lived here. It was fascinating to hear how it was cobbled together from several homes. It is self tour but the signage is very enlightening.

Blumenschein's home, much of which he built himself, is beautiful and the perfect backdrop for this amazing, genius of an artist's work. This museum in so worth touring!

Blumenscheins were an incredibly talented family. The house gave an idea of how life used to be. We really enjoyed it.

One feels the very atmosphere, the stillness, present in the home those many decades ago as though it's enveloped in a permanent siesta.

We love his work and as one of the founders of the "Taos School" someone interested in the genre should see where he lived and painted. Both his wife and daughter was also very accomplished artists. Guess we spent an hour plus there and loved...More
