We visited on their feast day. Pretty scenery and it was interesting to see how the pueblo area was laid out. We spent more than an hour almost two, looking and buying from native artists that were lined up with vendor tents. It was crowded and we didn't know where to go so we waited around the center pole where... More

Buffalo watching was enjoyable. Big to small... the interaction was incredible. Plus we took a short drive through the pueblo up to the small lake (pond).

Thank you Picuris Pueblo! We were in Tres Ritos for vacation and wanted to go to Mass. They told us they were holding Mass in the Picuris Pueblo that Saturday night. So, we went. What a wonderful experience. Everyone so very welcoming and nice. The priest was leaving and being assigned to another church and the pueblo was having a... More

One of my biggest pleasures in N NM is driving aimlessly finding things of interest to photograph. Don't try to photo on the pueblo without a 15.00 per camera permit. I checked in the tribal office prior to getting camera in hand and the young woman at the desk was quite inconvenienced by my questions when she was chatting with... More

We had been touring around the area trying to photograph some of the missions we picked from a book. We had some less than desirable light but tried anyway. We stopped to pay at the museum but it was closed up and no one answered when I knocked so we walked a few feet over to the mission. In fact... More

We stopped in the gallery while we were doing the High Road to Taos art tour, which is the last two weekends of September. We were amazed to find such sophisticated, beautiful art that was so masterfully executed. We then discovered Ms. Marx is owed by big name collectors in both private and corporate worlds. Would highly recommend the High... More

I find it hard to rate Picuis Pueblo, but I would like to say that Picuris can be quite enchanting. The August 10th Feast Day is a smaller and more intimate experience as compared to the larger Feast Days at many of the other Pueblos. The Christmas Eve bonfires are, likewise, smaller in scale than those at Taos Pueblo. This... More

We drove into the Pueblo hoping to see an historical site and what we got was a testament to the abject poverty these people live in, everything in a state of disrepair. The only interesting thing was the little church and a herd of buffalo. Be aware--you must pay a fee to even drive through this dump so be sure... More
