Once again Eagle Nest Lake does not disappoint! We fished Saturday morning into the afternoon. For for 6 hours of bank fishing. It was awesome!!!! Started off a bit slow but the action picked up. Almost losing a rod to a wide inch fighting rainbow....lol....More

I sought shelter there last night through the first substantial winter storm of the season. When I woke this morning, there was three feet of snow in front of my truck forming a drift ten yards long, and directly in my path. I set to...More

Had a great day fishing and just chilling out by the water. My kids were actually calm and only loud when they caught a fish!! My wife stayed the afternoon while we went into town. She caught several perch and sun fish.

The views of the surrounding mountains and meadows are awesome. The visitors center is top notch. There are not a lot of activities other than just enjoying the views and picnicking. The abundant prairie dogs are fun to watch.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds - we like to come up every summer to escape the heat. There are only 19 sites here with no hook-ups but they all have views of the lake and the mountains. About half the sites are first-come....More

Put our kayak in at Eagles Nest State Park and paddled across the lake. Fished for numerous hours. Great trout and perch fishing. Highly recommend this lake. Way cooler than where we live in Cerrillos.

A must stop and see for all ages. Stop at the local shops and visit with the locals in this quaint mountain setting. Many outdoor activities close by

It is nice to have accessible water to kayak on, but this is just a lake. There are decent views of trees and mountains, but nothing spectacular even as the leaves are changing.

Eagle Nest is a beautiful lake, the wild flowers were blooming which made the scenery even prettier. Drove through town but did not stop, looked like some cool little shops.

This Lake with it's surroundings mountains is just majestic. Early morning you can feel the silence penetrating deeply inside you. This I see really a very special and spiritual place.

Bank fishing or off the docks, whatever you want to do. The day started off calm but quickly brewed up some wind and rain. We caught a couple crappies, which was good, but the best part was how beautiful the views were.
