My husband and I went on a very nice hike here on our wedding anniversary. I was up for a little bit of a challenge, so we chose the Clear Creek Trail. This is a very nice wooded trail that goes along the creek. There were many little waterfalls along the way and plenty of wildflowers in bloom. It was... More

We have a second home in Angel Fire. When I was young, my family camped at the Cimarron Canyon State Park. It was awesome. The scenery is beautiful and the sound of the river adds greatly to the ambiance. The river is fun to fly fish, if you are so inclined. Campground is nice and well maintained.

It's no secret that there is poison ivy in Maverick Campground. They have signs on every campsite and on the trails, and they are well needed. We had to make sure our dogs didn't go nosing in the foliage at our campsite and stayed on the gravel. We saw kids running through foliage from one campsite to another and wondered... More

Very disappointed in the New Mexico State Parks, especially Cimarron Canyon State Park this used to be one of my favorite places to fish, not anymore. The gravel pits (pictured) had more than 15 dead fish (gross) at one end & the smell of decomposition was terrible! I sent the State Parks division a private message with pics and received... More

Dry camping, no water or electric hookups. If fire band in effect no way to cook with out propane stove. Stocked stream for fishing and several hiking trails.

The most beautiful canyon. The steep rocky cliffs, the Aspen's, pines, hiking trails and streams are worth the time. Awesome!!

This is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Great drive or place to camp. Great fishing too. Stop and look at the Palisades.

This was such a beautiful drive! Make sure to stop along the way and enjoy the creek that runs along side of the road. The creek is clear, crisp, clean mountain water at its best. The views are absolutely breath taking! My 11 year old granddaughter commented that you could explore "here" your whole life and never be done.
