Wasn't expecting much, boy was I surprised. Well arranged exhibits and a lot to see. The old horse drawn Hearst is a gem.

This museum is an amazing collection of artifacts that reflect the "stories of Deming". Any one who has the time should stop in.

We found everything in this Museum fascinating. We learned the history of the area going back to the Mimbres Indians up to the 20th Century local residents. The Mimbres pottery is wonderful and worth seeing the collection.

Very diverse museum, from dolls to liquor bottles to vintage pianos. Very cool collection of Indian pottery. Very clean, and the staff was very friendly.

Talk about a gem. Small-town USA with a very large museum. It has many many things. A whole room of any kind of Doll you can think of, geodes, Western history, a whole town with all the Artifacts for each room. there are many rooms and each one is a surprise. I spent two hours there and could've spent more.... More

Most of the items in the museum have been donated by individuals/families in the local community. Lots of history here. I went specifically for the Mimbres pottery exhibit. The Mimbres is not a curated exhibit, but if you visit Western New Mexico University's curated exhibit first, you'll have a better understanding of the pottery. Expect to spend several hours here... We've gone 4 or 5 times now. Such a neat mixture of history from all over that influenced Deming and the Luna Minbres areas. From the old check point house, to photographs and a whole wing honoring military from the area. Geology, pottery and the list goes on. The gift shop is cute and little with neat things for all... If you're ever in the Deming area, you should visit the Deming Luna Mimbres Museum. It's one of the nicest small-town museums we've ever been to. The people there are obviously proud of their collection, and rightly so. It's very well organized, and explanations of each area are clearly posted. The docents are locals, and we had several pleasant and... More
