This is the shorter of the two trails located at the Tent Rocks. The trail takes you by a hoodoo that has been hollowed out to be used as a dwelling or meeting house for the early inhabitants of the area.

This is definitely the preferred hike for those who may not be ready for a strenuous, uphill climb. The views are still spectacular as you stand in the shadows of mountainous beauty. Still--wear appropriate shoes for outdoor walking. Rocky roads are in store.

An easy hike with a cave and an opportunity to get some great pics of the cone shape Tent Rocks. Slippery sand in some places. Nice view of the surrounding mountains.

Not spectacular by any means but you should do it while you are there. The cave is more like a small hole in the face of the wall.

This trail is short and starts and ends back around at the parking lot. Do this one is you still want to hike some more after the slot Canyon hike.

I believe this is the trail to the top of the plateau. This was a good climb and will get you winded.

Quick, very easy hike! I hiked this trail after hiking the Slot Canyon Trail and personally, after all I saw on the Canyon trail, I felt the Lava Cave Loop isn't comparable. Perhaps if you choose to hike this trail first, it might be more...More

We had a great walk - just about 1 mile. The rock formations are wonderful to see / very different. Be prepare to to walk on loose sand in done areas. Overall an easy walk.

This is a great place for a nice hike while being surrounded by amazing scenery. There are two trails, the cave loop being less taxing.
