Very beautiful town which also is the centre for the national hero Skanderberg. Good place to spend half day in at a relaxed pace. It has very beautiful cobblestone alleyways and gorgeous old architecture. We met Xeni one of the fre inhabitants of the small original village in Kruja castle. He took us around and even showed us the Teqe... More

Krujë castle is located on top of a hill in the city of Krujë, the ancient capital of Albania and the center of Skanderbeg's battle against the Ottoman Empire. The castle is reached by a cobbled slope, flanked on both sides by gift shops selleng the local wears. Inside the castle walls several interesting things are found - the Teqe... More

A well preserved site from the beginning of Albania time. It tells the story how it all began in the 15th century.

We went to Albania for family reasons and had a few days to spare. Heard about this place and decided to go. It was very interesting. A bit steep to get to castle but once inside it is very nicely kept. Even has an elevator. We went on our own because we speak and read inAlbanian but I would reccomend... More

Most visited by tourists place in Albania, as from our impression. The road is good for cars and buses. No hiking needed. Nice old bazar on the way to the castle with all range of souvenirs you can find in Albania, by the same prices, and you can always bargain. Castle itself is quite small, with quite impressive museum of... More

Lovely little castle at the top of the hill. Easy 1 hour bus ride from Tirana so you could do visit and be back in Tirana within 4 to 5 hours. The castle itself houses the Skanderbeg Museum, as well as an Ethnographic museum. Also offers beautiful views over Kruje and the surrounding mountains.

Beautiful castle that really enriches the history of Skenderbeu. It covers his family history and his impact not only in Albania but across the whole world!

A gorgeus place not only for history lovers. You can park your car 5 mins walk from the Castle. The Castle is located on the hill, from which view is beautiful. It takes for about 3-4 hours to visit the place and have a nice lunch Kruje is not far from Durres (for about 1 h). Definitely well spent time... More

The castle is high on a hill and the Skanderbeg museum is located inside. On the top of the hill, on the castle remains, there is a house with garden, where you can have a restaurant meal. The food is actually from the garden, prepared by the woman who lives there. They also have rooms and you can park your... More
