If you are in Phu Quoc you should visit the prison. Why? Because it is about Phu Quocs history that's why I think it is worth a visit. However I wouldn't recommend it to families with young children because you will see violence.

Not a good place to take your kids there ! They showed a lot of violent images that I was not sure it is true or not !

that is a real picture about history, people and rules. miserable life of prisoner here is also attraction, shown through real statues

I can't believe something in Vietnam is actually free. Even the parking is free. I was expecting huge crowds but it was quite relaxing to walk around and read about the prison history. There was a lot of info about how the prisoners got tortured...More

Recreation of prison conditions during the Vietnam War. Hard hitting. Lots of tour groups, which detracts from the solemnity of the experience. Worth the visit though.

It might be better to use a wheelchair because the prison is quite big and there are stairs that lead into each cabin.

Phu Quoc is very small island. You can hire a taxi every minute, is cheap and safe. I have been renting a scooter and doing self made tour through all island. It was really off the beaten track. All country and island is... More
