The drive from gilgit to Hunza valley takes about 2 1/2 hours , but if you really want to enjoy the ride take your time, it took us over 5 hours as we wanted to take in each captivating scenery and the fall colours.

Beautiful valley between the mountains. The weather in hunza is mostly pleasant (really cold in winters). You'll definitely enjoy the sight of the valley

Roads are open 12 months a year but it will be cold weather, few hotels will remain open at this time of the year. Heating system and hotel water is available in the hotels.

It is not a good idea to visit Hunza in December. The snow makes it impossible to drive on the steep mountain roads as well as views and hiking are non existent this time of year due to snowy weather. Even the goat herders... More

If you don't have Pakistani citizenship then you will need Pakistani visa to visa Hunza valley. You can fly to Islamabad and travel to Hunza on Karakoram Highway
