Had a great time learning Balinese cooking, spices and culture. It's more then just cooking it's also a cultural experience which makes for an entertaining day. The cocktails throughout the class were amazing. Paid $130 (which is more then some cheaper classes in Ubud yes) but this was worth every dollar! Location is Seminyak square, whole day class 8:30am-4:00pm, free... More

This is more than you usual cooking school. Chef Dean and his staff not only did a great job in teaching how to cook Balinese dishes but set it in an historical context. There was a good discussion of all the different spices, how they are used and where they come from. Also some discussion of their history in Asia... More

We chose Deans cookery school because of the reviews and handy location. We were not disappointed. Dean was expert in Balinese cuisine and culture and his team were excellent and make you feel at home. The hands on part of the day was the best but it was enjoyable throughout. The kitchen/cafe is very new, beautifully set out and the... More

It was just a wonderful day from start to finish couldn't fault anything. Very friendly atmosphere, Dean and his team had thought of everything to make the cooking class worth of 5 stars. I loved hearing the history of the spices. The food at the end of the day was more than plenty full and so delicious.
