As with all the beaches in and around Sedgefield, this is a great walk on firm sand along the tide line. 45 minutes or so East of the car park at the end of the Swarvtlei Beach Road, the Point can be reached at low...More

Visited on my birthday 16 April. Long walk along the coast to get to Gerick's Point, but we'll worth it. Such a beautiful site to see. Very calm and relaxing environment!

The walk is probably about 3km from where you park. From there its rather steep klimb to get to the top. I would not recommend it for people having difficulty walking or climbing. The view from the top is great.

It's not too long of a drive from the main Wilderness area. Nice open beach area. Many visitors seen fishing and chilling in the water. After a quite a walk you'll get to the Gerickes Point, not too steep to climb the rock. You will...More

The walk along the beach to Gerickes Point is a must. We saw dolphins frolicking just off the rocks. Best at low tide because you can then walk among all the rock pools and see starfish in the pools

Want a great walk? Throw in the beauty and the fossilized dunes on this awesome location. Breeding seagulls and oyster catchers gives the spot absolute appeal for a great morning or afternoon walk

Super to go at low tide! The children love exploring the rock pools and running freely along the beach. The sea is not rough which makes it extra special for children. An occasional penguin or seal add to the adventure! The look out point provides...More

Located @ Swartvlei beach before you get to Sedgefield and about a 3km walk there and back. Check the tides so that you catch it at low tide. Make sure you take shoes with for the little climb to the top since it has a...More

Me and my family would love to do the Gericke Point walk. My kids are 7, 9 and 13, would the younger one be able to cope with it, or is it a trail for adults?

at low tide there should not be a problem for a 7 year old to do it. (Disclaimer: my 7 year old is now 29 years old!)
