It only one hour cruise but it was lovely. We took it at lunch time so you can have a "picnic" on the boat. They have their own deli shop where you can get cold cuts, cheese, bread, olives, wine etc and they even provide you with a cutting board, knife, picnic cloth and wine glasses. We paid 60 per... Wine tasting followed by selecting a choice of delicious food and warm out of the oven ciabatta bread from the deli to load our picnic basket for lunch aboard the Viljoensdrift's river cruise has to be one of the highlights of a trip to Robertson for our friends. Should the barge be full a fish & chips meal on the... More

Lovely cruise down the river ..... will do this again .. but next time just chill with a glass or three of wine .. and rather have lunch later on lawn or a stunning tapas platter served by deli .... then more time to chill and enjoy the cruise .....

Lazing on the river on a sunday afternoon - that's what it's all about at Viljoensdrift. Load up a picnic basket from the shop or bring your own, add some wines and hop on the pontoon boat to chug slowly up the scenic river or just laze on the river banks listening to live music and chilling.

This is the ideal way to spend a Sunday. Armed with a picnic basket containing tasty eats and a local bottle of wine onboard the barge that leaves on an one hour trip every hour. Unwind and enjoy the relaxing experience. After the boat trip you can park yourself at a table while the visiting musician will entertain you with... More

Tasted wines, bought a picnic and ventured out on the two storey barge - boat on a short stretch of the Breede river. Been meaning to do this for a while and it turned out to be a very pleasant experience. Would have been nice to have a short commentary from our skipper but alas he concentrated only on the... More

Group of 28 people visited Viljoensdrift for the boat ride on the Breede river. Had lunch before the trip, food quantity was good value, taste and quality super. Service very good. Wines were good quality, some of the better wines in the area, although on the slightly expensive side vs. some of the neighbouring farms. The boat trip is relaxing,... More

A great place to visit over lunch time. After tasting the wines, you make your way to the deli and pick out the various items you would like in your lunch picnic basket, as well as a bottle of wine. All reasonably priced. You then make your way to the riverboat where you enjoy a 1hour trip along the Breede... More

What a fabulous experience!! The food at the deli is the perfect variety, awesome selection. Perfect river cruise, boat not too full and lovely views. Never sampled the wine but such a professional setup at a fantastic price!! Well done, super super proud to be South African after being here!
