The Food at Reuben's was excellent and so was the service! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The setting is beautiful, however, the restaurant premises are not very well kept, there were bottles and tins laying around and the deck was very dirty. This is pity as it takes away from the great food and fantastic staff.

Almost spent an hour here during the wine tram of Franschhoek. It was on our list from before arrival in Franschhoek. We however got there and was really disappointed. Dingy corner with dirty tables... People leaving told us it was not worth it. And there was a terrible odour in the air. Luckily the bus hadn't left yet, so jumped... More

Chamonix is beautifully located in Franschoek. Very picturesque. We visited the wine tasting and had a few very good wines. especially the chardonay and the pinot noir from their reserve tasting menu. There is a small playground for the kids aswell. Highly recommend.

We stopped off on the wine tram at Chamonix because we had previously tasted the delightful wine in Scotland, and we were excited to taste the wine in the place of its origin. I wish we hadn't bothered. Owners of Chamonix - beware, your staff are ruining your image, reputation and place in the market. You would be better not... More

Having just left the wonderful Leopard's Leep friendly wine experience, we arrived with much anticipation at the highly regarded Chamonix vineyard. Their wines tend to be of very high quality. We took a seat outside the old blacksmiths - which is where the wine tastings take place. The tall short haired sad waitress greeted us without a smile. 'What wine... More

Whatever happened hundreds of years ago to draw people here was obviously a masterstroke. The climate is perfect and the years of European farming styles have created something very special. The area is simply stunning everywhere you look and the peace and quiet is fantastic. Staying here was a fantastic experience and one which I would like to repeat.

Chamonix (rightly) is positioned as a premium wine brand in SA and has many awards to justify its position. The tasting experience however has to be one of the poorest in Franschhoek. The staff were not knowledgeable or particularly friendly, one of our wines was corked but the person doing the tasting didn't understand what we meant and only after... More

We visited this place as part of the wine tour. The place is horrible and the staff very rude. We left after being in the place for 2 mins. What's worse is the staff who are very rude nasty and could not care if you were there or not. Don't go, the wine tour should take it off the circuit... More

A wine tasting venue on the yellow wine tram route. What a disappointment. The staff member had very little knowledge of the wine, was extremely unfriendly, rude and bored with the five of us. Only one person did the wine tasting because of her attitude. The carafe with tap water was cloudy and dirty and we were advised not to... More
