We arrived early with Carmen from Alan Tours. The map at the entrance didn't have any sightings noted like it did when we left. What did we see - lots of elephants (close to the van), Lions - 2 females far away and 2 male very close to the van. Wart Hogs, Kudu, Monkeys, Buffalo, Ostriches and a variety of... More

We went on a self driving experiencing through Addo National Park. The reception at the entrance offers a map of the area and there is also a restaurant and a shop located. Throughout the day, we have seen a herd of elephants drinking and playing at a waterhole as well as many elephants scattered in the park coming close to... More

The Addo Elephant National Park is by its very nature a large expanse of countryside. It has two entry / exit points. Our satnav took us to the north and main entry point whereas our friends came in at the south, and were then faced with a long slow drive through the park. An initial negative turned into a positive... More

Enjoyed an overnight stay in addo with my partner, was thoroughly impressed. We drove ourselves around on the first day, even in a hatchback Toyota the roads were fine, some tar, some dirt, but no danger of getting bogged or lost. Kudu, elephants, and warthogs are in abundant supply, and are virtually guaranteed sightings. Seeing a fully grown African elephant... More

We were a bit disappointed as we drove around for 4 hours and also saw 3 elephants. Nonetheless the park is vast and beautiful. The drive might get a bit tiring as you always have to be alert to spot animals.. really nice tho!!!

Although there is great accommodation outside of the Park, I personally love the chalets in the Park. They are basic, spotlessly clean, well equipped and comfortable. I love braaiing at night and listening to the animals. The park is well stocked and I have never been disappointed in what I saw.

Stayed for 3 nights Feb 2017. We booked nine months in advance for one of the two on site larger family cottages. Great accommodation, BBQs at night over looking watering hole with elephants visible all three nights. We went on two game drives a day, where we saw everything we could reasonably expect. The highlight was 300 + elephants at... More

Arrived at midday and spent the afternoon cruising round on the dirt roads, better than you would expect, and spotted a lot of elephants. At the Harpoor water hole there was between 100 & 150 elephants of all ages with half a dozen of them swimming in the water. A few warthogs arrived who were soon shooed away by teenage... More

Fantastic place for seeing elephants, there are always hundreds of them. Mothers and babies in one spot and the boys in another. You don't really need an organised tour.

Sitting in an open Landrover we experienced the closest of encounters with over 300 elephants during our guided tour. It left members of the tour in tears of joy and each of us with memories that will last a lifetime. How anyone can kill/poach these beautiful creatures is beyond me! This location is one that has to be seen to... More
