Wonderful 2 days

We chose to drive ourselves round the park and glad we did. Spent 2 days in there and saw all kinds of wildlife. Even got to watch the lions.

We were disappointed to see more turtles than elephants. Other than that, it was pleasant and the roads are very well kept.

When I got to Addo Elephant Park I've already been to Kapama and Kruger, seen all the big 5 and used to safaris. Even in that scenario, Addo was a huge surprise to me! The park has great structure and yes, you get to see many animals over there. I saw a Lion family, which was the star of the... More

Beautiful game park if you want to see elephants. But on the day we were there there wasn’t much to see in the lower part of the park. After the big waterhole where all elephants (at least 150) had a bath we drove all the way to the south but didn’t see much besides some Pumbas and Springbocks.

If you have not visited a game reserve before then this is a must see. It is not a private reserve in the Kruger nor the nearby Shamwari where clever practice will virtually ensure you see the big five but it is a fraction of the price, has very driveable roads and you will see a variety of animals. No... More

The very good game viewing is spoilt by the lack of etiquette of game viewers. Children hanging out of sunroofs 3 meters from an elephant, people tossing carrots to elephants and having generally no regard for anybody else. Some policing certainly is required.

Have visited Addo several times over the last 20 years. Each time we have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It's just great to be able to drive yourself around and stop at water holes for as long as you want to, just to see what turns up for a drink. Love seeing the elephants with their babies, one still suckling. Pleased... More

We took a very slow meander through the park and it seemed to be packed with wildlife! Elephants galore, many with tiny young at the moment, giraffes, lions, buffalo, zebra and antelope...it really was a sightseeing feast. Very easy to navigate around, fantastic scenic views too.

Well organized park with easy to achieve sightings and a good underground hide. Each year that I visit there are noticeable improvements. Don't miss the underground hides and obey the silence rule.

Nice cabins. A lot of animals - we saw lions, rhinos and a large herd of elephants next to a waterhole which was an amazing sight. Ado has big expansion plans which will make it a serious competitor to Kruger. Also, it is close to the 'garden-route'. So if you are short of time, you can cover Ado, Garden route... More
