Arriving early morning we had this peaceful gift from nature to ourselves and were rewarded with a satisfying day of birding: Louisiana Water thrush could be heard and easily seen, a beautiful yellow throated warbler made his appearance in the parking lot upon our arrival and many more birds could easily be seen. Trails were well maintained and bathrooms were... More

This campground was gorgeous! Loved the spacious, wooded sites. Be aware these are rustic sites without electricity. Also things we were unaware of was that there is a two dog limit and you are required to bring their shot records. We chose to walk in versus reserve online because of their cancellation fee policy. Be aware for 2 nights in... More

We read about it in a few places and decided to visit since south jersey foliage is best in the state this season We were not disappointed. The lake area is great. We took the trail around the lake and enjoyed it. The park office personal were very nice and helpful. Good trip all around.

The Good...nice location at a decent distance from the beaches and the services ...the staff at the front gate are kind...the Bad...noisy all night long up to 6am...not all nights, but 2 out of 5 are bit over the average... toilets tend to be dirty and not well maintained... the Ugly... ticks all over the place ...call it infestation, invasion,... We made reservations for a three night stay and we were disappointed. First night we arrived late and as we were setting up camp we realized there was a large party in the site next to us, they were drinking and very loud, the party continued until 800 am the next morning. No Rangers patrol and the park office just... More

Only drawback, bathrooms and showers. Me, my teenage nephew, and eight year old son had a great time. Lake Nummy was cool and clean. The park staff were all very nice and respectful. I have to also add that this was not my first stay at Belleplaine. As a child my family went there many times. The place hasn't changed... More

This is a serene park with hiking trails & a pretty lake for swimming. It was very quiet even on the weekend before 7/4. There are many campsites, yurts & lean-tos in the campground so reserving a spot on a weekend should not be a problem. Sites are farther apart than other state parks' so they offer more privacy and... More

TICK ALERT!!! The worst time of my life!!! I was supposed to spend the 4th of July weekend at the Belleplain State park in NJ. instead I packed and left the very next day. My friend walked a few steps between the camp sites and come out with 3 ticks! and forget about the dogs, I little walk cost them... More

A great place to spend the day. Hiked the east creek trail and saw one other person in 7 miles. Be prepared for swampy conditions if there's been a lot of rain recently. Boardwalks in some areas but some can require bush wacking if you don't want to get wet.
