While the Princeton campus may be open, their free art museum is going through some construction right now. Bummer! Wish we could've seen it after such a long drive.

It is certainly classically beautiful here - the architecture is stunning. Tons of little shops around, featuring preppy sophisticated brands. A quiet, earnest vibe.

Charming Campus
Jun 2021
Not much to say about Princeton University - it's fame precedes us. The Campus is lovely and perfect for a leisurely stroll even in summer since the tree canopy is enormous. Only thing that mars the eye candy is the hideous I.M. Pei dorm - a travesty of 1960s architecture which doesn't blend in and is ugly in and of itself.

Beautiful Campus hard to believe its NJ

We love walking the grounds of PSU. Generally well kept (lately some issues due to budget cutbacks) it feels like Europe with all the Gothic architecture. Especially pretty at night.

Elegant and beautiful campus
Sep 2020
We have been here a dozen times for visits and continue to love it. Stunning buildings. Lovely layout of landscape. We have been in the chapel and the library (when you could enter as a member of the public; believe that is no longer true). Combined with a visit to the town makes a lovely day trip (1 1/2 hour drive) from NYC.

Self guided Walking tour of Princeton University
Jul 2020 • Friends
Start your walking tour at the corner of Washington Road and prospect where the building of Woodrow Wilson international
Institute. Attached pic 2 is instruction on parking on Prospect. Many dignitaries spoke here. Woodrow Wilson is the only Princeton graduate who became president of US. Walk west to Rabinowitz building. Brook Shield studied here. Turn south towards firestone library. The building may not look imposing. But, it has many floors below ground. Facing Firestone Library, the chapel is behind you. The stain glass, lighting fixtures and organs are famous. Turning back to the square, the statue of John Witherspoon. Heading east from the square, you’ll see art museum. Pictures show some of the events at the museum. Many princeton alumni donate or loan their collections to the museum as well. Heading east from the museum, you’ll see prospect house. This house used to be the university president’s residence. Now it is a dining facility. On top of their menu, it says this is where minds meet. Looking down from prospect house, is the formal garden. It is a year-around beauty. Further East is the student center one. Many state of the art displays gadgets and a cafe are inside. Turning north across Washington Avenue is another library with a infamous Frank Gehry designed wing entrance. Heading back towards campus and look for Richardson Auditorium. The event calendar in front shows the caliber of activities. Heading west to Nassau Street. You are in the center of town with many eateries.

Brief visit to Princeton University
Jun 2020 • Family
Princeton University landmarks, park and historical buildings are among my favorite places to visit on a way from NY to PA. I'm not sure about winter time, but in Spring, Summer and Fall it's such an amazing place to spend time with your family or a group of people.

History all around you. Being on the campus for the first was amazing. Walking the grounds where numerous scholars have walked was great. The chapel was beautiful and very large. The chapel was a tour all in itself. There were guided tours and self-guided tours. If you have time take the guided tour. You will receive additional information. It's a big campus, so wear your walking shoes.
