Biked superbagneres from Luz st sauveur. Consistent grade of 8% with spots that are 10%. The last K is fairly steep about 10-12%. Beautiful ride. We did this in September and there is nothing open at the top so be prepared. If you are ambitious on your way down turn and ride up to Hospice of France. This is another... More

The views from the top of the mountain are spectacular , the valley below and the peaks across the Spanish border , and the ride up in the cable car well worth it . Plenty of places for refreshment at the top , or for the energetic , plenty of walking and cycling ( you can take your cycle up... More

My partner and I were visiting Luchon and wanted to take in the views above, from Superbagneres. We drove up (30 mins for a trip that is about 1.6 miles in distance). This is because of the long and twisty road that snakes its way round the mountain to get you to the top. We wanted to take this option... More

Traveled to Bagneres-de-Luchon France this past July to do some bicycling as it is conveniently located near several excellent Pyrenees Mountain climbs. Superbagneres is one of them. It's a pretty steady grade, a few spots kick up slightly (but there are also a few flat spots). It's a comfortable distance and once you make it to the summit, the view... More

The ride up Superbagneres was terrific. A new sign is needed at the top for the obligatory photo stop. Friends who came up by cable car said it was a very hot and stuffy experience. And once at the top at the cafe, the staff were grumpy. A mixed experience.

The skiing here is fantastic, especially after a snowfall. There are some nice easy runs for beginners, a couple of long runs which have challenging elements for intermediate skiers, and some really nice off piste too. One massive advantage about Superbagneres is that the piste is very quiet, in particular on Saturday's due to the fact it tends to be... More

Apparently one of the more affordable skiing stations in France, we were lucky to have pretty good weather (maybe a bit TOO good as some parts were turning into brown slush and I almost fell over with my skis going over little rocks and pebbles). All in all a good experience on the green and blue slopes. They apparently had... More

1800 meters above sea level in the Pyrenees. Perfect for beginners and children learning to ski or snowboard. Three or four cafes and snack bars. Can take a cable car from Luchon or drive to the resort. Some self catering but more to do in Luchon. French ski school and lessons available for preschoolers and discounts for children and adults... Making the journey up inside "L'oeuf" French slang for the cabins lifts up to the main complex is a preferred route to take. This route from Luchon , or Bagneres de Luchon to give it its full name , is not expensive and open for most of the year , Check on the Luchon Tourist info site 1st if out... More
