It was a great weekend indeed. We visited the famous Cape May Lighthouse before we headed home on a Sunday morning. Free parking. There is a hotdog truck - so, surely you won't get hungry. In addition, there is a museum where they showcase few...More

The Cape May Lighthouse was built in 1859 and contains 199 steps to the observation deck. Incredible views of land and the ocean. If you visit on a windy day, you will really feel it. In fact, it may blow you around on the tower;...More

If you like light houses here's one to add to your list. A very nice state park with lots of interesting amenities. Walk out on the beach or up into the lighthouse itself and take a look around. The parking lot is large enough to...More

great walk up and fantastic views but not for the faint of heart or the weak of spirit. Bring binoculars to make the most of the views.

Visitors allowed to climb almost to the top. Spiral staircase can be intimidating to some. Views and rest stops are frequent.

It is impossible to visit Cape May and not venture over to the Cape May Lighthouse. Besides it being a wonderful experience if you have not visited a lighthouse before, you have such a beautiful view of the ocean. I would highly recommend it.

We rented bikes in cape may and took a family bike trip to Beach Plumb Farm then Lighthouse and back. Beautiful view, good quick destination. Don't plan on spending any more than an hour but worth the visit

The lighthouse was wonderful. The view from the top was great. It was also close to a beach that was nice to go for a long walk on.

It's a must, of course, for the lighthouse enthusiast, as one of Jersey's tallest 3 ABC lighthouses (Absecon, Barnegat, Cape May...) but worthwhile even for the non-lighthouse-addled. Seemed like everyone we passed going up or coming down those backlit spiral steps was enjoying it, from...More

I apologize we do not know all of the details of Cape May, googling the visitors bureau will probably be the best bet. They have EXTENSIVE information. I can tell you that September is a GREAT time of year to visit as it... More
Are there any limitations (age or height) on climbing up the stairs to the top of the lighthouse? (Some other lighthouses limit access for small children....) Thanks!

Our kids are 8,7 and 5 and saw families with younger kids than ours. There are A LOT of steps and stair well if very tight so I wouldn't recommend bringing kids younger than 5, it will be very hard on them and you since... More
