My father and I visited the Madam Sherri Castle Ruins at the Madam Sherri National Forrest. It was an amazing place to see. My only two complaint was the parking area was pretty small and was quite muddy as it was raining earlier in the...More

This should get higher ratings but the main parking area holds 14 vehicles at most and big rigs can have problems. I definately needed a spotter to back out. There is overflow parking nearby. Do not park off the road for tickets are issued. Her...More

Dirt roads to get there but easy. The story and the ruins are fantastic to see. A shame how it came about though. Also, it has a number of nice nature walks.

Enjoyed reading about Madame Sherri, seeing the ruins of her home, and hiking the Anne Stokes Trail. It was a nice hour long hike, sometimes wet, and some rocky spots as well. The views at the top are beautiful! Bring water and bug spray!

My boyfriend and I went for a hike around here and enjoyed ourselves. The castle remnants are really cool and the hiking trails around them are well marked, moderate at times, but are worth the lookout points. I would suggest having bug spray as the...More

The drive from Brattleboro was beautiful and the site was calm, although more climbing than anticipated on trails to enjoy the vistas. I would love to learn more about Madame Sherri and plan to return to the park.

Reading the history of Madame Sherri and her secluded home is as fascinating as the visit to the site. The architectural ruins are very intriguing and just a short walk from the parking area; however, plan to spend more time to hike the trail network...More

This is a beautiful, moderately strenuous hike from Chesterfield, NH to a gorgeous summit overlooking Brattleboro. The history of Madame Sherri is fascinating.

There is a moderate, one mile trail that leads to Indian Pond, a magical isolated place. From there one can head west for one mile to the top of Wantasiquet Mountain that overlooks the town of Brattleboro, Vt and has a great vista of Southwest...More

Type "41 Egypt Rd. West Chesterfield, NH" into your GPS. It's not there, but that'll get you to where you can find the sign and the parking lot.
