Interesting trip back to the past. Every year the museum showcases a new exhibit focusing on the past when vacationers used to travel by train to the mountains and stay at the grand hotels.

If you go to Polly's Pancake House be sure to stop here for a visit. The museum is in a giant red barn at the top of the hill. It is free to visit. All ages would enjoy learning the history of the area 100 to 50 years ago. See old clothing, house wares, farm tools, pictures. Call to see... More

A few minutes walk away for the Sugar Hill Inn, the "Sampler" is a surprising, small museum, set in an old large barn. Clearly a labour of love and community spirit, filled with well presented information on the history of the White Mountain area. Old photos, documents, crafts and instruments, tastefully displayed along a shop that offers items from local... More

This museum gives great insight on what this area was like in the early 1900s. Loved seeing the black and white photographs

The Sampler Gift Shop at the Historical Museum is way more than just a gift shop. Be sure to wander into the back where you'll find a terrific little museum telling the life story of the families in the area. Fascinating. Lots of pictures, stories and interesting memorabilia. They've done a great job giving one a real feel for the... More

Mostly under the direction of Catherine Peckett Bigelow with her many volunteers who staff this three room/two building display of memorabilia acquired from many... More
