This is only one of many historic homes in the city, and it's one of the better ones. The period furniture is beautiful, as is the decor. It also has lovely gardens and lawns. It's a short walk from Market Square, and worth every step.

If you enjoy American history, please take time to visit this home. We were staying downtown & were able to walk there easily plus got to see more of Portsmouth. Lovely old home with a great story!

There are only limited visiting days.However, it is very close to central Portsmouth and well worth the minor inconvenience. Owned by members of the same family and given intact, it presents a snap shot of their lives over many years. The furniture was bought for the house, with some additions. This was another wonderful house tour, with informed staff and furnished with charm. Its right in town and you really get a feel for the time period when Portsmouth was a booming port city. One of many great houses to visit in town.

It is really hard to get to see the Rundlett-May house as it is open infrequently - only the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month from June through October. However, this house is really a treasure. This house is often closed but hang in thereastshis is a interesting House tour of one of Portsmouth's early families. The historic info is good and improving.
