Both times I have anchored here once back in nineteen ninety nine and just this past June have both been two of my favorite nights ever anchored. Only 7 miles from the entrance to the Piscataqua River

We enjoyed a boat tour around the Isle of Shoals. Interesting history of the people who lived here, fishing industry etc. Beautiful rock formations, light houses. Interesting birds.

I traveled by boat with a group to Star Island and loved every minute of the ride, the guided tour, the meandering trails, the seagulls and the lodging.

The boat trip out of Portsmouth to the Islaes is a must! The guide gives very informative historical background about the significant points of interest as the boat slowly departs from the harbor. The arrival on the main island offers a most enjoyable and relaxing...More

Going out to the Isle of Shoals is a nice boat ride and overall experience, even if you choose not to go onto Star Island.

This is our favorite summertime jaunt. You leave your troubles behind as you enter an incredibly beautiful world. Please don't tell anyone about this place, or else everyone will want to go there.

We took a boat tour of the Isles going out of Portsmouth, but didn't stop at any of the islands -- it was just a harbor cruise that went around the isles -- but it was beautiful and informative. I love looking at these Isles...More

Taking the 45 minute ferry ride off the coast to Star Island, and living a week in an historic, funky wooden hotel suited me fine. Wonderful, long-table meals, walks along the rocky ocean water, even simply sitting in a long line of rocking chairs. I...More
