I've traveled the "Kanc" many times in my 80 years, during my early years the highway was dirt and was not complete from end to end and was closed in the winter. Now it is paved and maintained during the winter months. The scenery is wonderful and there are plenty of place to picnic, hike and swim - don't forget... More

My wife and I took the Kanc in a mild snowstorm , to go over and see the Ice Castle in Lincoln Feb.2017 , Lots of nice scenery even in winter. In winter, caution is advised, have a full tank, front wheel or all wheel drive recommended.

There is no better place to visit in the fall. It's a short window but if you can make it during the peak its breathtaking. Pack the cooler and hit the road, plenty of stops for photos on the way.

Just drove the Kancamagus highway and it was spectacular! A winter wonderland with snow covered Evergreens and icy snow covered streams. Highway was an easy drive even in January and was well plowed. If enjoying this area this time of year it is a must see!

We've traveled this scenic road many of times during the foliage seasons. This was the first time we traveled it during the winter and it was beautiful! Luckily the roads weren't terrible. Kancamagus is always a great drive!

Winding near streams, lots of mountain views, beautiful wooded landscapes. If you're in the area on a nice day, take 40 minutes or so to drive this highway. Beautiful.
