Never knew this place existed until a friend asked me to meet them there. It is hidden down a side road and has a small but ample parking lot. There is no beach here but plenty of rocks and a rock jetty that you can...More

Actually there is a small sandy beach but it's only there at low tide. As you walk in to the grounds it is on your right side behind the stone wall. Just remember, there are no life guards so swimming is at your own risk.

Parking is limited only during the winter. In good weather the gate is open and the parking lot is quite large. Beware of parking on the street where it says something like "town sticker parking only". If you don't have a town sticker, the police...More

This place is more about the setting than the site. The remains of the fort are forgettable, but the views along here are super.

Have to credit google maps for this find. Make sure you're looking for the camera icon while exploring. This site was free and open until 8pm. My husband, my daughters and I walked around and were intrigued by what remains there.

This is such an out of the way spot that its not very busy. It has a rocky beach area on one side and a sandy beach on the other. In between is Fort stark, fun for kids to explore. The bathrooms are portapotties.
