Since 1861, a spectacular, steep eight-mile scenic road that leads to the top of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast. Drive yourself or take a 2 hour guided tour in company vans. Mt. Washington State Park and the Mt Washington Observatory are at the summit.

Beautiful scenery. Don’t do this if you are afraid of heights. A lot of fun. There is a small fee but you get a cd which is great.

There is a reason that so many cars in the Northeast have a bumper sticker that says, "This Car Climbed Mt. Washington". A chance to have a look from the summit of the second highest mountain in America east of the Mississippi. Spectacular!
